Cemeteries
03:14
|
|||
Cemeteries to get stoned in
all the bones under our feet
The ghosts living in your sheets
Made from ashes
Sick concrete
Hot in the sun
Take your tongue
Our initials will make a mark
As sick as it all is
It’s still hilarious
Isn’t it?
Lost and found years come around
End up circling a memory
A makeshift image for sanity
Half-seen static on your minds TV
Habits like that will die hard
I’m still a passenger in your car
Going nowhere, lake shore drive
I only want you survive
Not even thrive
Just survive

Dystopian Dracula
04:50
|
|||
I bought all the tropes
Possessed by rock and roll ghosts
A myth packaged and sold
A wish to break a mold
Of a shape that changes form
Undead idols, Ego porn
Dystopian Dracula
I’ll live forever give me more
Guitar lessons burned in my memory
My teacher took breaks to sell weed
My dad half drunk walking around
And browsing used cds
I sat and stared at the insert of
Black Sabbath’s record, upside down cross
Was the coolest thing I’d seen
A teenager, song reversing
So I built a future based
On lives already lived
Which left less than a trace
No real advice to give
So I went searching through
Garages, basements, VFW halls
Bullet belts, liberty spikes
Train hopping trust-punks stayed the night
And I made those lifelong friends
Who had less life given to live
Bullshit rock and roll mystique
Smashed guitar, Virgin Mary
Dystopian Dracula
Demands another song to stream
Bluetooth Jesus connecting
I’ll live forever
Give me more

You Were Hoping
02:33
|
|||
Candles are dripping
Time is coming undone
Leaving your to do list
Under the gun
Now the jaws of God are wide open
It’s just not what
You were hoping
Get hoping for the best
Off of your chest
Settle down with some kind of reason
A rhyme or something that you can say
To assure yourself that you’ve gone the way
Of the dream you tried to realize
But came out a little different
Truth is only static when
Its lit up by headlights
Hailing down a cab and headed
Towards some kind of insight
Swallowed the door to find a key
The lock is locked inside of me
Get hoping for the best
Off of your chest
Settle down with some kind of reason
A rhyme or something that you can say
To assure yourself that you’ve gone the way

Night Scene
03:22
|
|||
Street lights are getting changed
Night scene don't look the same
Shadows still growing long
I still wanna hear your new songs
Had an idea slip away
But that's exactly how it came
Just poof and then it's gone
But something else always comes along
I'm banking on a dream
That you stopped having
Shaking on a beam
Between now and
What happened
The future is a flying fuck
That you swore you didn't give
Drove the past to drink
Now it's passed out
And sick of your shit
Barren and bogged down
By something underground
I'm a plane that's filled with no one
The pilot can't be found
Destination daredevil
Landing luck guaranteed
The lotto ticket dumpster fires are free
I'm banking on a dream
That you stopped having
Shaking on a beam
Between now and
What happened
The future is a flying fuck
That you swore you didn't give
Drove the past to drink
Now it's passed out
And sick of your shit

Factory of Feeling
03:07
|
|||
I’m hustling and I’m bustling
But i’m stuck somewhere in between
I busted something crucial on the way
From here and eternity
Time ticking
The golden age was framed
A fairy tale found itself maimed
Making stains for memory
This must be the factory of feeling
Fake it, shake it
No crowns on the line
Chasing spotlights
Puts the present on rewind
And the past will run you outta time
Then your future has no spine
A graveyard car, a plastic cup
That poison star will fill you up
On a highway to heaven
To a false possession
Evil’s seen this scene before, God-willing
The stories boring, the gore is snoring
But the tv static’s blood keeps pouring
Making stains for memory this must be
The factory of feeling
Fake it, shake it
No crowns on the line
Chasing spotlights
Puts the present on rewind
And the past will run you outta time
Then your future has no spine

Going Nowhere
03:31
|
|||
A photo of you fell out
Of a book that I’m reading
Smiling and wearing
Your gas station glasses
It was summer in Manhattan
Touring on a record we made in
A Pilsen basement
Aimless ambition
I wonder if I’m going nowhere
I heard that place is kinda cool
Outer space in a dead stare
Like living in a waiting room
Got my heart beat fighting
Fates dim lighting
Nothings gonna lead the way now
Dark has fallen
no one’s calling
Nowhere left to run to
The only light left in sight
Is the one flickering
Inside of you
Searching my memory
Like an old haunted house
Something’s creaking and waiting
But won’t come out
I need a Ouija board or tarot reading
Before twins appear and walls start bleeding
Some scenes repeat to reveal different meaning
Wonder if I’m goin nowhere
I heard that place is kinda cool
I see you standing on kimball
In a photo like a waiting room
Got my heart beat fighting
Fates dim lighting
Nothings gonna lead the way now
Dark has fallen
no one’s calling
Nowhere left to run to
The only light left in sight
Is the one flickering
Inside of you

Kids on Mars
03:34
|
|||
Out there in the woods
Past the sirens and lights
Theres a darkness sitting still
With an infinite insight
And it knows the ups and downs
Childhood fears, neighborhood clowns
You can build a dream and chase something
Distract yourself, but it’s coming
What do you do
When no spirit moves you?
Just dead air and terror
The unknown like glue
I’ve tried drinking in sunshine
Counted breaths even left my mind
But relief is a thief
When given the time
I feel like my brain is melting
6G chip, winter is sweltering
Our kids on mars driving flying cars
Sneaking to earth to post apocalypse bars
This cycle spins i’m dizzy
Gonna put on some Thin lizzy
While i’m driving around the city
Past the people that I could be
All the lives that I imagine
Real jobs, condos and children
What do you do
When no spirit moves you?
Just dead air and terror
The unknown like glue
I’ve tried drinking in sunshine
Counted breaths even left my mind
But relief is a thief
When given the time

Gold Coast
02:12
|
|||
Warm summer breeze
Bruises on my knees
Carrying kegs into basements
Black mold by my face
When i take them to their place
In a hellish unseen wasteland
The buildings reach towards heaven
Most of my time is spent below
Getting high looking at my reflection
In the ugly glass condos
Then weird thoughts
They start arriving
The world can warp, God changed the lighting
Saw a dog smiling and my mind stalled
Thought, “do dogs even smile at all?”
Then i walked down to the water to meditate
Between deliveries
Just to end up ruminating
Googling a random disease
Then the bell rings
An order in the Gold Coast
Pick it up and take it to a high rise door
A voice on the other side just says,
“Leave the food on the floor”
Then I take a gold elevator
Wave goodbye to the guy at the door
A voice in my head screaming loud,
“How long can i do this for?”

Had A Thought
03:26
|
|||
Had a thought and then forgot
And tried to grab but I was stopped
By a hand that came from an unseen place
Unseen that is before
It was right in front of my face
All the forces moving, traffics hum
Breath you’re breathing from your lungs
Body’s temple, a sight to see
Tourist attraction, make it bleed
With a funny caption on a shirt you see
On an ad that pops up in between
All the people living in the little screen
Lucky ones never know that they are
Walking under ladders black cats dont matter
Making it look easy and it’s just as well
Dreaming that your someone else
Always gonna be inside yourself
Whether you’re in Brooklyn or in the Bay
The miles are just minutes
That got in the way
Of the truth day drinking in her easy chair
Reality passed out
And outta her hair
Without that distraction said a little prayer
A half drunken hope always seems fair
Here’s to hoping when reality wakes up we’re square

Apocalypse Lite
05:35
|
|||
Saw apocalypse-lite in the parking lot
We locked up our bikes and got into the line
Swabbed the roof of my mouth
And watched you do it too
Gave the tube to a teenager in a hazmat suit
I often wonder if this is my worst fear come true
All my compulsions were symptoms
Of some larger issue
A schizophrenic break i’ve been waiting to appear
I heard my uncle was crazy
But he’s been dead for years
And then i beat myself up
For being so self absorbed
But how is one supposed to feel when it feels
Like the end of the world
Weapons are drawn and there’s men in trucks
High on Qanon fumes and headed towards us
While the cop is at the bar, his mask under his nose
Getting lunchtime beer in his plainclothes
While the hostess is a ghost looking white as a sheet
I’m walking by to hurry home and wash my hands till the bleed
And then smoke cbd, half-ass yoga in jeans
To an instructor holding crystals on a live stream
I hear a hum in the sky, i hope its a plane
Or an alien spacecraft calling out my name
With a message for me saying i’ve won it’s a game
Then it all went black ended up in the backseat
Of some cosmic car and i’m speeding past scenery
Memories living in rent controlled places
So you know they’re not leaving, get used to their faces
Yeah the holy are high in childhood bedrooms
Playing russian roulette, wearing human costumes
Faces peeling off, half identities lost
The will to live bends on a suburban cross
Now that rooftop memory reveals hidden meaning
I remember purple teeth, you yelling and screaming
Said i suck and my band was somehow even worse
And then stumbled somewhere to puke on your shirt
Yeah, i fill in the details with what i wanna see
Truth’s a moving target based on memory
Introduced a fact to fiction for rosey forgery
Forgiveness is barely even necessary
Prospective paths chaos like the big bang
Tryna understand my role in the whole thing
An ocean of potential, game show on a screen
There’s shoes on a wire, a tv flickering
The night time is grinning, the end’s the beginning
The bus isn’t passing, it’s already passed
The dream of a future
Is gone at last
